Major activities:
On going professional development opportunities for trustees, new trustee orientation, state and national legislative advocacy, information sharing, policy development. TACTC works in collaboration with the 9 member State Board (SBCTC) and the 34 Community and Technical College presidents. (WACTC)

Organizational structure:
Executive committee - president, president-elect, secretary, treasurer; 2 members at large are elected to one-year terms at annual business meeting. The immediate past president also serves on the executive committee.
The president appoints 2 co-chairs of the Legislative Action Committee to serve on the board.
Legislative Action Committee - one member from each community and technical college district (30); each appointed by their local board.
Washington has 152 trustees, 2 who are student trustees. All are appointed by the Governor and subject to confirmation by the Washington State Senate.

Paid by local college districts - flat fee ($100), plus $.75 per FTE

The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges provides one full time trustee association director and one full-time administrative assistant.
